Hi,  my name’s Thomas Gurinskas  I am an Ohio-based author, book reviewer and amateur queer historian. 

A recent college grad I wrote my honors thesis on transgender identity and my senior capstone on The Magnus Hirschfeld Institute, archives and the exclusion and erasure of queer bodies in history.

This blog is the new home of my book review blog Snap Book Reviews from Tumblr, I can also be found on Twitter and Patreon.

Things you can expect to see on this blog:

  • Short book and comic reviews with a focus on LGBTQ fiction and nonfiction, as well as a diverse array of independent authors.
  • Snapchats of the books I’m reading! This was the conceit that prompted me to start this blog in the first place, along with realizing I loved reviewing books.
  • Essays! This has varied considerably from queer history, comics rhetoric, trans lifestyle, Judaism studies, and more.
